Hey There!
About.
My name is Ella and I am passionate about all things creative! I am in my final year at the University of Hertfordshire studying compositing and had the privilege of working at Electric Theatre Collective over the summer of my second year. For the last few years I have been freelancing at Blockbuilders, as a Digital Media Designer, creating community engagement projects for kids in Minecraft, working with companies like the National Trust, Minecraft Education, and Xbox UK! A crazy amazing experience which allowed me to travel around Wales looking at castles for 4 days straight! (and caused me to fall out of a lifesized Minecraft boat haha)I am currently taking my first steps as a VFX Compositor and loving it!! I am always open to new opportunites so please feel free to get in touch through the channels below!
Marshall.
Electric Theatre Collective University Live Brief.
This shot was set as a live brief by Electric Theatre Collective as a University project. It combined a number of compositing techniques to combine the provided plates together. This included tracking in Sytheyes, card projection cleanup, extensive rotoscope, and both 2D and 3D CG integration. In addition to this, I was also tasked with finding an appropriate sparks plate to add to the footage as this element was not provided. This was my first time using many of these techniques which presented a huge opportunity for growth throughout the duration of the project and resulted in a huge improvement in my compositing confidence and ability.

Random42 University Live Brief.
Full CG Environments created in Houdini and Composited in Nuke.
This was a Live Brief set by medical visualisation company Random42 to create a short video to accompany a provided audio about Hepatitis B. This involved creating full CG environments in Houdini, using a mixture of procedural and simulated techniques. I used a variety of solvers including vellum and pop to create the organic effects needed to convey the sense that we were inside a body. This was my first full CG compositing project and it highlighted to me the versatility and enjoyment of creating more conceptual works - something I would be really interested in doing again in the future.

Animus.
Second Year Student Film.
Animus was my second year university film project. I directed, edited, and composited the film with a team of 6 wonderful people, working through the pipeline from concept to grade. We were lucky enough to be a finalist for the Rookies for Best VFX Film of the Year and to be showcased at the University of Hertfordshire Expose and won Best Music! This project was super fun to be a part of and was a huge learning curve.I was responsible for compositing half of the film which involved complex hand held camera tracking and multi-camera track splicing, full plate rebuild, human hand reconstruction, and CG Integration. You can see the full project breakdown on the Rookies.

Skate.
Electric Theatre Collective project 'Drop in' created for the new EA Skate.
Skate was the second major project I worked on during my summer internship at Electric Theatre Collective.I was responsible for shots during production but was also able to take the plates of the more challenging broken finger shot and comp them as a personal project while I was at university.

Audible.
Electric Theatre Collective advert for Audible 'Romantasy'.
Audible was the first project I worked on during my summer internship at Electric Theatre Collective.I was responsible for shots during production, working as a part of the incredibly talented team at ETC. I learnt a lot about the production pipline in VFX advertising during this project which was really insightful having only experienced projects within university. I gained a lot of new knowledge working alongside much more tenured compers which really prepared me for returning to my final year of university and the other projects I worked on over the summer.
